Labour law information and counselling for refugees from Ukraine
Due to the forced flight of many people from Ukraine and their arrival in Berlin, Arbeit und Leben Berlin-Brandenburg DGB/VHS e.V. has expanded the Berlin Counselling Centre for Migration and Decent Work BEMA on behalf of the Berlin Senate Department for Integration, Labour and Social Affairs and hired two new colleagues.
Thereby, we support refugees from Ukraine in Berlin in asserting their labour rights and preventing exploitative working conditions. They are approached and advised in their first language Ukrainian, Russian and English.
In addition to our outreach work, where we distribute informative flyers on labour rights and conduct short information talks, our tasks also include training, group counselling and individual initial and referral counselling. In addition, we offer in-depth counselling in cases of labour rights violations.
Through its direct integration into the structures of BEMA, this new initiative benefits from BEMA's long-standing labour law expertise and experience in counselling and supporting mobile, immigrant and refugee people.
